The Antidepressant Forum:
Established Risks and Proven Alternatives

In this 90 minute DVD you'll hear first from Karen Barth Menzies the lead attorney in the fight to expose the true risks associated with antidepressant drugs, particularly the risks of suicide and violence.

The second presenter Julia Ross, author of The Mood Cure and The Diet Cure and Executive Director of The Recovery Systems Clinic in Mill Valley, California. She explains how the brain manufactures serotonin and other powerful mood enhancers from specific proteins, or amino acids, and describes how these aminos can be used as supplements to combat depression and make withdrawing from these drugs more comfortable.

Next, Beth McDougall MD., Medical Director of the Clear Center of Health in Mill Valley, California, describes the thyroid, adrenal, and sex hormone imbalances that can contribute to depression and how they can be corrected.

Finally, Cary Murphy RN, recounts her experience with Paxil over a 7 year period, her difficult withdrawal from the drug, and how nutritional support helped her find a better emotional life off the drug.

Marijuana Education
Three Previously Recorded Lectures
Featuring Julia Ross

This six CD set contains three lectures given by marijuana addiction expert Julia Ross, to inform the public and professionals about the effects of marijuana on the brain and body and about its unique addictive potential. The Haight Ashbury clinic's well known pharmacologist, Darryl Inaba also presents, as does an articulate spokesman from Marijuana Anonymous.

This set also includes information about the special nutritional and counseling needs, in both detox and recovery, of those who become addicted to this little understood drug.

Partly because marijuana can be so detrimental to memory, it is important for addicts to have information about the drug that they can review over time. They also need to know, as do their family members and the professionals they consult, about the unusually long process of recovery from addiction to this complex and potent plant.

A Clean and Sober Brain:
A 5 Hour Professional Training in
Nutritional Recovery Technology

"This is one of the most exciting trainings I've ever conducted. People were actually pounding on the doors trying to get in", Julia Ross, presenter.

This five CD set of Ross' training explain why the current approach to addiction treatment is so unsuccessful. More importantly, they detail how success rates can be raised by correcting the imbalances in brain and body chemistry that trigger addictive cravings for drugs and alcohol. The nutritional recovery techniques outlined are validated by scientific research and clinical experience (including over 20 years of experience by the presenter herself). The use of a pro-recovery diet supported by amino acid supplementation to quickly normalize blood sugar levels and the levels of the brain's four key craving and mood-regulating neurotransmitters is highlighted. Finally, recovering addicts describe the beneficial effects that these therapeutic nutrients have had combined with their counseling and twelve-step recovery programs.

The Mood Cure:
A Professional Training

This eleven hour CD set focuses first on the use of amino acid supplementation and a therapeutic diet to restore normal mood by optimizing levels of the primary mood-regulating neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, GABA and endorphin.

The second half explores the needs of those whose depression, anxiety, insomnia or unexplained sadness is related to thyroid, adrenal or sex hormone imbalances that require special testing and treatment.

The set includes the personal experiences in nutritional recovery of a former bulimic-drug addict and someone formerly suffering from ADD and severe fibromyalgia.

The handouts on assessment and treatment given out at the training are included with the CD's.

Medical professionals who have listened to the CD's are eligible to join the monthly clinical Teleconsults provided by presenter Julia Ross.
